“Be-the-Change” is an ongoing initiative at the Academy of Our Lady of Grace that encourages students to make a positive impact in their community. Through service projects, reflection, and acts of kindness, students and staff work together to embody the school’s mission of compassion, leadership, and social responsibility.
Throughout the year, the Academy organizes collections to support youth, veterans, and underserved individuals and families in need. On official collection days, students proudly wear their complimentary “Be-the-Change” shirts—provided each September through a grant from the Fairview Board of Education—as they bring in their donations.
The Academy’s Royal Retirees volunteer to gather, sort, and deliver the collected items, ensuring they reach those who need them most. It’s important that students bring their items on the designated collection dates to help make the distribution process smooth and efficient.
Other organizations within our school community—such as OLG Parish’s Youth Coming Together, the AOLG Beta Club, and the AOLG Junior National Honor Society—also participate in community-based service projects. These groups often collaborate with the “Be-the-Change” initiative or carry out their own outreach efforts.
If you have an idea for a future collection or know of a group in need of service, please email: retirees@aolgfairview.org
Thank you to all that support this great cause!
